Each grade level team has developed one unit of inquiry for each IB theme focused around the N.C. Essential Standards in Science and Social Studies while integrating other disciplines such as reading, math, music, art, PE, language.

Units of inquiry vary in length, revolve around big ideas or key concepts, and may end with a project-based, hands-on summative assessment or written reflection. 


WMIES follows the Kath Murdoch inquiry cycle which includes the steps of: tuning in, finding out, sorting out, going further, making conclusions and taking action.
