Another amazing week is in the books at Irvin Elementary as we get closer to Winter Break! Last week, we were thrilled to celebrate so many students with positive referrals—Way to go, Eagles! You truly know how to SOAR!
Our 3rd–5th-grade students also wrapped up their Reading and Science Benchmarks. We will finish Benchmark testing this Tuesday with Math. If your child missed a Benchmark, no worries—they’ll have make-up opportunities through Friday.
This week, our Kindergarten–3rd-grade students will begin their Middle-of-the-Year DIBELS assessments. Attendance is especially important so teachers can see the growth your child has made and plan next steps for success.
We’re also gearing up for our PBIS & Encore Celebrations next week! Students are working hard to earn their signatures and Gold Cards. Parents, thank you for continuing to encourage your child to SOAR each day.
Students in grades 2–5 are completing Module 2 of Arts & Letters. Our second graders even had a special visit from UNCC Professor Cerise GM, who shared how the American West changed over time—right here in North Carolina! Be sure to check out the Tips for Families flyers below to help your child review vocabulary and key topics from this module.
And don’t forget—this week brings the much-anticipated PTO event: Parent’s Night Out! Find details and the registration link in the PTO section below. We can’t wait to spend time with our Eagles while you enjoy some uninterrupted holiday shopping or a relaxing evening out on Friday, December 12th 3-6:30 pm
A Word from Our SROs
Parents, please remember to come to a full stop at the two stop signs before entering the car line. Your cooperation helps keep all of our students, staff, and families safe.
