Impact through Education Award Winners
Administrative Professionals Day

💙💛W.M. Irvin: Where Learning and Laughter Shine!🦅

It was another fantastic week at W.M. Irvin! 🎉 We proudly recognized our Impact Through Education Award winners: EC Resource Teacher and Lead Ms. Tara Anthony, Title I Tutor Ms. Melissa Sansbury, and students Lexi Do and Timothy Ernst. 🌟 Congratulations—we are so lucky to have you as part of our W.M. Irvin family!

We also celebrated our front office dream team—Mr. Delgado, Ms. Mayfield, Ms. Taylor, and Ms. Wyke—for Administrative Professionals Day! 🏆 If you’ve ever wondered who keeps everything running smoothly… it’s them (and probably a little magic ✨). We appreciate all that they do!

Our 2nd graders had a blast attending a performance by Concord High School’s Stage Spiders Advanced Theatre class. Their production of The Princess and the Pea was full of laughs, drama, and one very sensitive sleeper 😄👑

📢 Parent Reminder: This is the final week to complete the Parent Survey! We’re aiming for 100% participation—help us get there! Your feedback (the good, the bad, and even the “hmm…” moments) helps us grow and plan for next year. Scan the QR code or use the link below to make your voice heard!

🚌 Transportation Form Alert: The Transportation Ridership Form is due by April 30th. All families must complete it—no exceptions! Please use the QR code below to submit.

🎽 Field Day Fun is Here!
  • Monday: K–2nd Grade
  • Tuesday: 3rd–5th Grade
Parents are welcome to attend! Just be sure to check in at the front office for your visitor sticker 😊 (rock it proudly while on campus and return it when you leave). See the flyer below for all the details!

🍎 As we head into the final stretch of the school year, please reach out to your child’s teacher ahead of time if you plan to join them for lunch. Schedules and locations may change due to testing and end-of-year activities. Also, a heads-up—there will be no lunch visitors during the final week of school.

🎈 Teacher Appreciation Week is coming! We have an exciting week planned to celebrate our amazing teachers. Be on the lookout for ways you and your child can join in—we promise, they deserve all the love (and maybe a few extra snacks too 😉).

As the weather is warming up, we would like to encourage you to get your children outside to explore nature like a scientist! Watch the flowers bloom, grow a garden, monitor the changes in the world around you, create a bird feeder, etc.

Recently our students have been seen measuring water outside with the garden, learning with new robots, becoming artists, and blasting off rockets.

In AIG fourth graders have been solving math problems with robots, fifth graders filmed commercials for their inventions, and third graders made mosaic and Mondrian art with fractional pieces.

Positivity Project (P2) - Purpose

Dear Families,

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Purpose. Purpose means having beliefs about the meaning of life and feeling that your life has a purpose. It’s about wanting to be part of something bigger than yourself.

People with a sense of purpose believe they are here for a reason. That reason can be different for everyone — it might be inventing something new, bringing joy through art or music, or raising kind and responsible children.

Having a clear purpose helps people stay strong and courageous, even in difficult times. It also encourages them to act with kindness and love, even when it’s hard. When people feel connected to something greater, their lives have more meaning and fulfillment.

To practice and encourage the character strength of purpose at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.

Thank you for your support!
