Enrollment Requirements

IMMUNIZATIONS: Every student attending school in North Carolina must receive certain immunizations by law.  The requirements can be found here.

HEALTH ASSESSMENT: All kindergarten students are required by law to have a Health Assessment performed no more than 12 months prior to the date of school entry.  This law also applies to new enrollees entering NC public schools for the first time.

*Parents/guardians must provide these documents to the school within 30 days of enrollment.*

EVALUACION DE SALUD: Se requiere por ley que cada estudiante del nivel kinder tenga una Evaluación de Salud llenado no más de 12 meses antes de la fecha de entrada en la escuela. Esta ley también aplica a los nuevos ingresantes que asisten a una escuela publica de NC por primera vez.

INMUNIZACIONES: Por ley, cada estudiante que asiste a la escuela en North Carolina debe recibir ciertas vacunas. Los requisitos se encuentran acá.

When to Keep Sick Children Home

• Fever 100.4 or higher: Child should be fever-free without medication for 24 hours before returning to school
• Diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting: Child should be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school
• Rash with fever and/or drainage
• Body aches, earache, or bad headache
• Bad sore throat with uncontrolled pain or difficulty swallowing food/liquids
• Cough that s/he cannot control or sneezing often
• Eyes:  mucus or pus draining from the eye and/or uncontrollable itching
• Very tired, lack of appetite, or unable to focus and participate in class
